A message from Pastor Hahn:

Dear Church Family:

Years ago, few could have dreamed of Good Shepherd or the community of Frankfort as it looks now. It’s difficult to turn in any direction without seeing something new because of our growing community.

It seems that the new has found room alongside the old at Good Shepherd also. The Lutheran Hymnal (the “red” or “old” hymnal) continues to be regularly used along with Lutheran Worship (the “blue” or “new” hymnal). A 10:45 AM contemporary service has been added (along with its contemporary music) because it appeals to the variety of interests of many inside and outside of our congregation. All of these are examples of the “new” finding room alongside the “old” at Good Shepherd.

God’s people also discover that the Lord’s mercy and compassion is “new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23). While it is always new and fresh, the great love of the Lord never changes. It is still the same incredible and wonderful love that we read about in the pages of God’s Word, and that we see most clearly in Jesus Christ.

It is this great love of God that has and will continue to lead Good Shepherd in the coming years. Undoubtedly, there will be many more things that are new-new faces, new and alternative worship styles… We can only dream of all that is new that is yet to come!

May all those who call Good Shepherd “home”, now and in the future, find their purpose and mission only in the great love of the Lord which is new every morning.

Sincerely, Pastor Kevin E. Hahn
